Take part in Forming a Welsh Youth Parliament

On 19 October 2016, following a unanimous vote of support from Assembly Members, the Assembly Commission agreed to explore the feasibility of establishing a Welsh Youth Parliament, and the Llywydd, Elin Jones AM, announced her intention to establish a Welsh Youth Parliament.
Since this announcement, we, the Assembly Commission, have been busy working with young people and adults from organisations that work with and/or promote the views and needs of young people in Wales, to develop the key features of a youth parliament for the people of Wales to consider. These representatives have come together to form the Youth Parliament Steering Group (Steering Group) and include members from the following national youth organisations in Wales: Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Youth Cymru, Urdd, Children in Wales, NUS Wales, Wales Observatory for Human and Children’s Rights, CWVYS, Scouts Cymru, GirlGuiding Cymru, Young Farmers Wales, Principal Youth Officer’s Group and CYPAW.
The next step of the journey is to find out what young people, and those professionals who work with young people, think about our proposal to establish a new Welsh Youth Parliament.
The consultation will be open 28 April 2017 – 30 June 2017.

1.   The Assembly Commission Education and Youth Engagement Team are available to attend schools and youth organisations across Wales to deliver a 60 minute workshop to gather the views and opinions of young people and professionals
2.   The Youth Parliament Steering Group will be working to gather views of young people they work with
3.   Complete the consultation online – via our website and social media
4.   Attend one of our organised events; dates and locations to be confirmed
5.   Suggest an event for us to attend to promote the consultation
6.   Help promote the consultation through your newsletters and social media channels
If you are interested in taking part in the consultation, would like to help promote the consultation, or have any questions about the Youth Parliament for Wales, please either get in touch withyourassembly@assembly.wales or contact a member of the team directly.
We are anticipating a big demand for workshops, so book early to avoid disappointment. We will do our best to accommodate everyone where possible.
This is a truly exciting opportunity for the young people of Wales, and we hope that we can meet as many of them as possible to give them the opportunity to participate in this consultation.

Ar 19 Hydref 2016, yn dilyn pleidlais unfrydol o gefnogaeth gan Aelodau'r Cynulliad, cytunodd Comisiwn y Cynulliad i ystyried y posibilrwydd o sefydlu Senedd Ieuenctid i Gymru, a chyhoeddodd y Llywydd Elin Jones AC ei bwriad i sefydlu Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru.
Ers y cyhoeddiad hwn, rydym ni yng Nghomisiwn y Cynulliad wedi bod yn brysur yn gweithio gyda phobl ifanc, yn ogystal ag oedolion o sefydliadau sy'n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc yng Nghymru neu sy'n hyrwyddo eu safbwyntiau a'u hanghenion. Diben hyn yw datblygu'r nodweddion allweddol sydd ynghlwm wrth senedd ieuenctid i bobl Cymru gael eu hystyried. Mae'r cynrychiolwyr wedi dod ynghyd i ffurfio Grŵp Llywio Senedd Ieuenctid (Grŵp Llywio) sy'n cynnwys aelodau o'r mudiadau ieuenctid cenedlaethol Cymreig a ganlyn: Comisiynydd Plant Cymru, Youth Cymru, yr Urdd, Plant yng Nghymru, Undeb Cenedlaethol Myfyrwyr Cymru, Arsyllfa Cymru ar Hawliau Dynol Plant a Phobl Ifanc, CWVYS (Cyngor Cymreig y Gwasanaethau Ieuenctid Gwirfoddol), Sgowtiaid Cymru, Girlguiding Cymru, Ffermwyr Ifanc Cymru, Grŵp Prif Swyddogion Ieuenctid  Cymru a CYPAW (Ymgyrch dros Gynulliad Plant a Phobl Ifanc Cymru).
Y cam nesaf fydd darganfod beth yw barn pobl ifanc a gweithwyr proffesiynol sy'n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc o ran ein cynnig i sefydlu Senedd Ieuenctid newydd i Gymru.
Bydd yr ymgynghoriad ar agor 28 Ebrill 2017 - 30 Mehefin 2017.
1.   Mae Tîm Addysg ac Ymgysylltu â Phobl Ifanc Comisiwn y Cynulliad ar gael i fynd i ysgolion a sefydliadau ieuenctid ledled Cymru i gyflwyno gweithdy awr o hyd er mwyn casglu barn a sylwadau pobl ifanc a gweithwyr proffesiynol.
2.   Bydd y Grŵp Llywio yn gweithio i gasglu barn y bobl ifanc y maent gweithio gyda nhw.
3.   Cyfrannwch at yr ymgynghoriad ar-lein - drwy ein gwefan neu ar y cyfryngau cymdeithasol.
4.   Ewch i un o'r digwyddiadau y byddwn yn eu cynnal; mae'r dyddiadau a'r lleoliadau i'w cadarnhau.
5.   Awgrymwch ddigwyddiad i ni ddod iddo er mwyn hybu'r ymgynghoriad.
6.   Byddwch o gymorth wrth hybu'r ymgynghoriad drwy eich cylchlythyrau a sianeli cyfryngau cymdeithasol.
Os hoffech gyfrannu at yr ymgynghoriad, neu ei hybu, neu os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau ynghylch Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru, anfonwch neges at dygynulliad@cynulliad.cymru neu cysylltwch ag aelod o'r tîm yn uniongyrchol.
Rydym yn rhagweld y bydd galw mawr am weithdai, felly archebwch yn fuan i osgoi siom. Byddwn yn gwneud ein gorau i gynnwys pawb lle bo hynny'n bosibl.
Dyma gyfle gwirioneddol gyffrous ar gyfer ieuenctid Cymru, ac rydym yn gobeithio y gallwn gwrdd â chymaint o bobl ifanc â phosibl i roi'r cyfle iddynt gyfrannu at yr ymgynghoriad.
Diolch yn fawr iawn!
